Dark days of the 'rising sun'! Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi had a fall-out with the Maran family in May. The spat was over an opinion poll, allegedly biased against Karunanidhi's elder son Azhagiri, conducted in May by the Maran-owned daily, 'Dinakaran'. The daily published the poll despite a request from Karunanidhi to shelve it. Not only was Dinakaran's offices damaged in an attack, Dayanidhi Maran lost his Union Cabinet post, too.
